After mentioning 3D printing recently, I went to check up on some of the other 3D-Printing bronies whose work I've been seeing on the interwebs. Here's a post highlighting some of the best stuff, after the page break.
I will mention once again the brony who did this, who goes by the screen name "MacGyver" on Thingiverse. He has also made STL files corresponding to the rest of the mane 6 that can be printed without support material (FYI that's decently impressive). If you happen to have a 3D printer available, you could download those STL files here.
Also Hashbrony has done some excellent work, getting his models into more than one of Shapeways' galleries (examples here and here). He's organizing many Shapeways prints including the one in the header - which you can currently purchase. They're a tad on the expensive side, but also of astounding quality. And he's got his own little website with an FAQ and everything! Fancy!
Also on Shapeways, there's Calistotash, Vidalcris, and maybe a few others setting up pony prints of similar quality and price.
And there's many more artists (just a few examples: 1 2 3 4) as well, lots of which you can find using Derpibooru's 3D-print tag. (last I checked, no NSFW there.)
In the whole lot of them there's some pretty smart cookies, what with their mad acetone-vapor-ABS-polishing skills.
And it's worth mentioning that many of the thingiverse prints are derived from the 3D models of KP Shadowsquirrel, though I'm not sure KP actually makes prints... Someone look into that!
