My Little Pony Fans Hold Online Charity Drive

It looks like we are in the news again. This time for charity. Go here for the full article, or go past the break for some copypasta.

Over the weekend, Bronies—fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic—held an online fundraiser for a pair of charitable causes, raising thousands in the process.
“Bronies for Good,” a group which has raised thousands of dollars towards a variety of charitable causes in Africa, teamed up with another group of animation fans to raise more money for their causes.
A live stream took place through fan sites of the hit animated series. Fan artists took requests for drawings of their favorite characters or situations while fans donated money through the internet.
The money went two ways—it went towards GalaCon and the Seeds of Kindness 2 fundraiser. Through the online fundraiser, over two thousand dollars was raised for both of these causes.
GalaCon is not only a convention for Pony fans in Germany, but they will be using those funds for charitable causes planned for that convention as well.
Seeds of Kindness 2, as News 4 has reported previously, is a fundraiser raising money for the “Safe Project.” They aim to have a chicken farm constructed for a Ugandan Orphanage in Africa. The walls are already up, thanks to over 20 thousand dollars of donations from nearly a thousand fans.
