Hasbro Officially Expands FiM Target Audience, FiM Movie?

Not just little girls anymore. 

How about some awesome news for you this morning? At a recent Hasbro investor event, interest was expressed in expanding the target audience of FiM to older audiences with a new IP, and it seems a MLP:FiM movie was announced. Have a quote from a summary of the event:

"Whoa! Mr. Frascotti acknowledged “Bronies”; thanked them for being great fans. My Little Pony TV Movie announced. He also mentioned that there will be a New IP for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. This new IP is for Older Girls; Teenage and above. The name of the IP will be revealed at a special “Pink Carpet Event” at San Diego Comic Con 2013. My best guess is that this is the rumored “Equestria Girls” trademark."

Looks like they plan on spreading media via Youtube, Facebook and Twitter as well as Netflix, iTunes and the rest. I wonder how they'll approach that. Also it's clear that their game plan is well thought-out, whatever it is.

Indeed those are not just little girls in those photos (though I suppose, not just FiM either). And hey, is that a screen cap with text on it, in the usual internet-esque sort of way? Interesting...
