Hey everyone! This is a guide to all the variant covers offered for the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Comic being published by IDW Publishing.
For those newer to comics, comics often times have alternative (or variant) covers offered for the same issue. This guide is to help you find the ones you want!
Keep in mind that:
- You can also go to your local comic shop to get the comics
- Some covers are retailer exclusives so you must get it from them (either directly from their store or online)
- Some variants are expensive and/or extremely limited
- If you missed/can't get a cover, head over to eBay
Issue 1 (November 28, 2012) - 19 Variants (Gallery)
Warning! This is speculation regarding the Secret Mystery Cover!
The Secret Mystery Variant is thought to be a Ghost Variant. The Ghost Variant is a special variant and there is not much information besides the fact that it is secret.
Larry, of Larry’s Comics, claims the last cover is a Ghost Variant featuring Princess Luna. This combined with the fact that no information regarding the cover will be revealed until the release of the first issue has many people believing that it will indeed be a Ghost Variant.
There has only ever been one other Ghost Variant, which was done for the Walking Dead #101. This page also has has info regarding the Ghost Variant and a list of retailers that got the Walking Dead Ghost Variant, which might be worth checking out.
