Anyways, if you haven't already seen, some news about comics was revealed this morning. Looks like Luna's finally getting a micro, and Pirate Dash will be more than a Tumblr. Some animation/SFM that SB found, after the break. Oh and the Fluffle Puff Tumblr has been updating regularly recently

Katie Cook on Micro-Series #3: Rarity

What? Something like news at DD? Heresy, I say.
No really, Comic Book Resources not only revealed the new cover art you see above, but also interviewed Katie Cook, writer of the Micro-Series #3: Rarity.
Questions about the premise of the story, her opinion on Rarity as a character and the Micro-Series, non-pony stuff and more.
And, by the way, it looks like Season 4 will have a Rarity episode.
Also, there's exclusive artwork, showing three pages of the book.

Official Comic news

comicbookresources.com released IDW's publishing solicitations for June, 2013.
There are some news, I guess, for issue #8, micro series #5 (Pinkie Pie) and the issue #1 Treasury Edition we mentioned a while ago.
The latter is especially interesting. Not only does it contain all 48 original covers that were made for the first four issues, it's also a black & white coloring book! The complete first issue of the official comic for you to drown in colors.
As someone commented on this: Buy it and color everything incorrectly.

One of the few good things to come from LPU - supposedly Andy Price drew these unique comic covers there.

Anyways, the first story arc of the FiM comic books has been wrapped up and more comics will be released later this month. From what you have seen of the comics so far, what do you think of them? Better than the show? Worse than the show? More artistic freedom? Too many references you didn't get? Let us know in the comments!

For those who haven't yet read the comics, there are snippets in lots of places, to give you a general idea if you wish. The first that come to mind are here and here.

MLP Comic Issue #4: Hot Topic exclusive cover

Hot Topic opened pre-order for their exclusive variant cover of the official comic's fourth issue.
After the Dynamic Forces cover variant, I have no idea how these are related. But it's an awesome cover anyway.

Official Comic #3 Previews Available Now

Can't wait till January 30th(?) for the next official FiM comic? Well Itunes has put up a preview of the first few pages which you can find here, or in the relevant article on The Round Stable. (spoilers, obviously)

By now you've probably seen this at some point. So here's the prompt: if Rainbow Dash had to do battle with one character from another show/book/movie/game/misc form of media, who would it be, and who would win. Examples after the break to get you thinking.

MLP Comics: IDW Bestsellers

Apparently MLP #1 is IDW's best-selling comic ever (so far). It even stood up to DC and Marvel comics in terms of sales! Check out the DHN article for more details!

January 30: Release date for comic issue 3?

Too adorable not to use as a header at least once (but otherwise unrelated)

Multiple sources including TFAW have revealed that issue 3 of the official comic will be released on January 30th.

Check out the article on The Round Stable for further details. Also, in light of an update to TRS's article, it seems we can expect our FiM comics the last week of each month from now on? (maybe)
